Chino goes Red

Chino Valley city Independent Fire Department has decided that "going green" is lame.. so they are "going red" instead.

Thats right, no more yellow fire engines... for more info check in the general forum.

I'm glad to see the change back to tradition. I know there have been studies showing the lime yellow/green as being the most visible...but at the same time, red is the most identifiable color for municipal fire departments. Let's keep the lime yellow/green on the tarmacks of the airports. Traditional color yes, but what's up with the name. I guess they should be happy they are not called "Chino Valley City Independent Fire Rescue Life and Safety Emergency Services Department".

I have always liked the traditional fire engine red the best.

Hated that old OES lime green.

Right when I got hired we switched from white rigs to red ones. I was lucky enough to put every new shinny red engine and truck into service during rookie school. Only bad things is our chief at the time also changed our name. We went from Las Vegas Fire Dept. (LVFD) to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue (LVFR) kinda blows. But I could be working for Clark County Fire riding a YELLOW :eek: RIG. I'm talking Yellow yellow. Not "OES" or airport crash yellow/limegreen. But school bus Focking yellow.

One time I was at a bar (Three Angry Wives) and a group of County Fire (Homos) were giving me a "razz" and they asked me what the "R" stood for. I told them the "R" stood for RED and they didn't say sh!t after that... LOL:D

True story. In closing on my oral interview for SB City FD after blowing them away with all the bitchen knowledge I spewd out my a$$ they ask if I had anything to add and I replied "well in closing I would like to say the last reason I want to work for SBFD is I want to ride on a RED Fire Engine" with that I left the room with them giving me the Deer in the headlights look:D
