Does your station/ department get their game on? What game do you play? Do you play guitar hero? (II or III), rock band? Or do you guys get your MADDEN on? Do you do the HALO thing, were everybody hides in a dorm room with their own TV so nobody "screen watches" (we have those those guys. Out in battalion "do nothing"). Or do you play cards? Good ole' fire house cards..... If you play cards, what game do you play? Texas hold em, hearts, spades, pitch? If you play the X-BOX, what do you play?

I just got moved to a new shift. But my last crew and I would play games after dinner. Hearts, Online hold'em on different computers at the same poker table, and monopoly (yes monopoloy, that was always a all night game).
Games at the fire house are great, it builds comrodery with the crew and has always been a great tradition in the fire service. It is a bummer though when we get interupted for "toe pain".

Depending on how wooped we are from a long day of running calls, we sometimes play volleyball. We have a park just a block or two away from the station.

We're really not that into the video stuff.

I used to play A LOT of Halo when I was at a slower station. Two and sometimes three TV's...fun. Then we started playing Poker in the evening. I never really cared if I won... I just wanted to beat the guy that was "The Expert Poker Player." That was a little more fun.
Then came guitar hero. The first time I saw it, I thought it was kinda...lame. Then I played it and hated it because I sucked!! Then I got it @ home and played more and let me tell ya....VIDEO CRACK!!! Rock Band too!! I bought a real set of drums for the house (my wife sure was surprised:D) because of that game!!
Anyway there was this time we had a rookie doing a ride along at the station.... nevermind.... that was a poor decision. Let me put it this way. When you have a rookie in the station and you are supposed to be setting a good impression... DON'T PLAY GUITAR HERO!!!
Now I am at a busier station, and we don't really have time for playing too much. Or maybe I am the only one that wants to play. When I work trades or OT @ my station, I do play some ping pong. And let me tell ya....a ping pong ball CAN leave a bruise!!

We play a dice gamed called "ZILCH". The game has a basic set of rules that are usually "seasoned" with special rules particular to the station where you are playing. There are even a couple of rolls named after a member who makes them famous. The game is often times used to see who buys a round of sodas, cleans the messed up pot after dinner, mops the floor or does all of the aforementioned.

I just got moved to a new station and shift, but my old crew would play "follow the queen" for dishes. So much fun. Then we would sit out back and kick it. Miss you guys.

At the station we fly Blade CX2's. Nice and stable and not too squirly. I also have a Hummingbird CP2. Im a scale flyer. Whens the last time you saw Mercy Air do a rainbow or a whirlwind? lol I did put a nice little LED light kit on my CX2 though...

No one should be allowed to fly RC helos unless they are ARFF certified.

We play a card game called "PITCH". I never heard of it before I came out here. It's kinda a cross between hearts and spades.
FYI for rookies cleaning the kitchen while the guys are playing cards, don't throw out the box that the holds the deck, there just might be (probably is) some ca$h in it. :eek:

Our department has decided that some of the P.T. we were doing was much too risky. They bought Wii Sports for all of the stations and we are bowling and playing tennis like crazy!
