View Full Version : LAFD Tatoo Issue and Tatoo policy
Today I saw several Los Angeles Firefighters on TV complaining about the departments new tatoo policy. Here goes the LAFD getting more bad press.
I know we have gone round and round about tatoos in another post, but do you guys think that the LAFD guys should have taken the tatoo policy to the media as a protest?
I'm the 1st to line up and object to a no show tat policy. But to take it to the media.....bad form. That is gonna open up the door and it might just bite them in the a$$. The public has a perception of fireman. They want them to be good, clean, and wholesome. As American as Apple Pie. Tats don't really figure into that equation. The general public isn't very bright. And the one's that b!tch the loudest usally got nothing to say. So People may say, "I don't want my firemen to have tattoos that I can see." They should just let this settle out in arbitration or in court.
Now if you talk to a single person, they will say that they are fine. But People are a different story. A person is rational. People are stupid. (Thank you to "Men in Black" for the quote).
Good Luck LAFD. Hope you didn't F it up for the rest of us!!

I don't think that they should have taken it to the media. They should let things settle down still after the dog food thing.
Anytime the Fire Department goes to the media to pitch a b!tch about something, it's "bad press". We've got a good gig and if there's a problem, then that's what union dues are for?
