Fontana Fire Protection District?

Just curious why Fontana is "semi-independently" seperating from SBCoFD? Maybe some of the SBCoFD guy's can shed some light.

I bet the city of Fontana wanted to ensure that their fire tax dollars stayed in their city and was not getting spent in Yucca Valley.

It was developed to keep Tax dollars generated within the city. This was done when County Fire finished their Re-org, and developed Fontana Fire Protection District. The only thing you would notice would be the Equipment in Fontana having a Fontana FPD patch logo where the county logo was.

Keeping Fontana's money within it's boundaries is the right thing for the citizens of that fine town.

SB County is lucky that Fontana did not create their own department. That would have been a huge loss to SBcoFD.
