hey ive heard alot of rummers going around about SBFD firing 6 new firemen???? maybe one of the city guys can set me strait and give me the scoop?:)

Nope it's just a rumor, City is making NO cuts to the FD budget or personnel, I work at the UNION station and that is a fact.

what about the rumor going around that your shutting down station ten and engine ten???

Yes the Fire Chief did state that shutting down "A Station" (not neccessarily Sta. 10, but 10 was put out there). However, it was just one of MANY option the Chief was thinking about to initially meet the Cities request to shave the budget down a couple Million. However, when it came down to it the City stated "NO" FD cuts were to happen. That includes constant manning. It is "business as usual" for the SB City FD for now.

I hadn't heard the outcome of all the press on that program.

What about Cal Fire taking over fire services in Half Moon Bay...

I support my department, but I don't like it when we take over a city and there is a lot of resistance or drama.

I'm sure that the San Bernardino County Fire guys know what I mean, since there was alot of heartache over the Victorville Fire takeover.
