View Full Version : Philly FD trying to resond to a call
I know it's not "WESTCOAST" related, but it could've been, mayebe?.?.?
This is a video of the Philly FD trying to respond to a call after the Phillies won the world series... Just watch, it's amazing.

Could you imagine if the L.A. DOY-YERS would've won the LCS vs. The Phillies??? And then went on to win the World Series with "Man Ram"... Would this kind of nonsense happened in L.A.???
Of course the respectable L.A. DOY-YER fans wouldn't of reacted this way...
What the heck would you do in this type of situation?
Go Halos!!!
The new Tower Ladder 5 that was only in service for a couple of weeks was enrute to a stuck elevator run. While proceding down Broad Street, some members of the crowd jumped on the apparatus. As a result, the Tower Ladder's tailpipe was ripped off, a couple of the hydrolic lines were ripped off the control box for the main, the tail lights were broken, and the AC unit was ripped off of the roof. A mechanic at Shop 2 found a wallet that one of the crowd had dropped on the apparatus. This person turned out to be a volunteer Firefighter in a town not far outside of the city. The next due Ladder was dispatched to cover for the Tower Ladder on the stuck elevator call. The tower Ladder was O.O.S for a long time for repairs. It has since been reasighned to Tower Ladder 6 in West Philly while Ladder 5 is now operating Ladder 1's old apparatus, a 2007 American Lafrance 100ft tiller since Ladder one was closed not long ago due to buget cuts.
Tower Ladder 6 as it looks today
Pretty sweet. Hey, What kind of stuff is in the "RIC" compartment? I have never seen a cabinet labeled like that before.
Mostly extra hand tools that the company will use if designated as the RIT. I think that their is also Vests in the compartment also. All city Ladder Companies have this compartment and may be called upon to act as a RIT. A RIT will be called in on a second alarm.
Tower Ladder 6 used to run this 1986 Mack/Baker 75ft Arialscope from 1986 to 1998. Later in it's career, it was repainted by the city shops and transferred to Ladder 4 for a few more years before finally giving up the ghost
I would loose my mind if those people were on my rig and I was driving. Lucky that has never happened to me cause I really hate stupid people and I don't think I could have tolerated that....lol. They should have stuck the dude who lost his wallet on the truck with the bill for repairs!
I totally agree with you , I also hate stupid people, I guess working twenty years on an Ambulance in Philly fortified this opinion.
I do believe that the person, who, by the way was a Volunteer Firefighter, was billed for a portion of the damage to the new Tower. He was also suspended from his volunteer company.
Its one thing to make yourself look stupid, but giving your department and the Fire Service such a black eye deserves all the bad reprocussions that he deserves.
Snorkel 5 use to run this Pierce 85ft Snorkel before being replaced by the new KME Tower
