Twenty New Haven, Connecticut Firefighters are taking their reverse bias claim to the United States Supreme Court. The Justices will hear the case in April.
We are 19 White and One Hispanic firefighters who were denied promotions to Lieutenent and Captain after there would be no Afrcan American candidates promoted on the initial batch of promotions. No african americans scored high enough to be promoted in the first wave.
This case is known in the courts as Ricci v. Destefano and is will surely be a landmark civil rights case in regards to reverse bias.
