I heard a rumor the other day that Rancho Cucamonga Fire was looking for bids for their dispatching services.

Has anyone heard the same thing or have the scoop?

Are they not satisfied with Ontario?

I also hear that the city of Rancho was also entertaining a bid for fire protection from SB County. True or not?

Damn. That's a good rumor. I bet it's not true though.

Probably someone bitter with those two departments just trying to cause a stir.

Those cities are solid.

Rumor number 1 definitely true--Appears they want more than Ontario can offer.

Fire protection rumor- only the Shadow knows.

Rumor number 1 is for sure true. San Bernardino City was asked by Rancho to answer their RFP request to provide dispatching services. As far as an RFP going out for fire protection all I can say is I heard from a Rancho F.F. that there are some City officials that are not happy with the amount of money the city is having to pay for their current fire department. Go figure. That seems to always be the case. You get what you pay for.

Rancho’s Fire department does a very good job. They are well trained and very professional. They provide a great service to there customers. As far as that rumor being true I would have to agree with the post above only the shadows know for sure. Maybe the firefighters want to go County, maybe they are tired of the politicians in there city. The only problem with that is “Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for because it might come true”.

Yeah I heard that same thing SCUBA. The dispatch would have to hire a couple more at least if that happened.

We got official word today from our department staff that SBFD did give a bid for dispatch services to Rancho.

No word back yet.

I hope we get it!
