View Full Version : Anonymous postings
Does anyone have a problem with people posting on this site anonymously? I personally prefer it that way, because it gives some people more "courage" to say what they really mean without fear of being labeled by their co-workers. What do you think?

You want courage, just get drunk before you post.
ha, ha, ha. Not that much courage. That is a completely different group of anonymininity, anominiminity, oh what ever, I'm not spell checking so send all complaints to firemedic301. Anyway, The punchline was something to do with AA, but that didn't work so I'm getting a beer. Ventgroup out!
Why do you need to be anonymous? Anything that you type, you should be able to back up...and if you work with somebody that disagrees...sack up and let them know.
Besides, you could always make up a whole other profile and do it that way:D

Anonymity is definately a good thing. We have some intelligent and talented younger guys on the job. This forum gives them an opportunity to speak their mind where they normally wouldn't do that. Besides, some of the arguements on here are fun to watch. I heard once, "Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded." Let's weed out the 'tards and get back to some serious intellectual convo. Word.
Anonymity is a total cop out. If you want to cop out, there is another test you can take, and I hear they let you carry a gun. We are a part of a team and from time to time my crew, my friends, my co-workers say something that I don’t want to hear, but from the most part they are just trying to make me a better firefighter. So, if your feelings get hurt, as Ash702 says, sack up or don’t say anything. There are many sheep that will always follow the herd, don’t be one of them. DID I REALLY SAY SHEEP?????
HOMOS, Ash is right again. Get some Balls. I would hope we can all agree to disagree. This is'nt high school. We are paid professionals that get paid good money to risk it day in and day out. Even the new guys should be able to post without retaliation. Everybody has and F ing opinion. Sansoo, FM301, Ventgroup, You guys have been around long enough to have any fuking opinion you want without retaliation or shiat talkin from others, By the way I know who you are.........Long live freedom of speech Love, KB
I think the anonymous factor is part of the fun. I can figure out who some of the people are but not all of them. I agree it allows some of the newer members of our profession to speak their mind without the thought that someone is going to tell them to "Shut up!" I also think it is funny to watch two people I know talk smack to each other and realize they don't even know who they are talking to...and if they only knew to whom they were speaking, they would probably try to crawl under the floor. Hey, if you are so big on telling everyone who you are, why haven't you done so already, like some of the other brave souls?

So let me get this straight, are the guy's that agree with guy's staying anonymous saying it is OK for the new (or "young") guy's to jump in the shark tank of a heated discussion, voice an opinion that will/may offend persons in their local fire/ems/law family and it is OK because nobody knows who they are? Just wondering. Also, good luck to the "young" turd that gets out there and starts throwing verbal punches thinking they won't be found out. When or if you are found out, don't be surprised when you jammed up by your local commrades and then mark my words you will be labeled. I personally respect a younger guy's that voices a heated exchange as long as he has his morals and priorities in line and has the nuts to identify himself. I'm not saying everybody on the board needs to give everybody their name and Dept. in every post. Just if you are posting an opinion of "calling somebody out" or "jamming them up" let us know who you are. It's call respect.

Just for the record, I do feel proper spelling (or at least get close) is important. :D

Yeah... what he said. Anonymity is vague. Spelling is cool. Grammar rocks.
Opinions vary.
Viewpoints are transient.
Other than that... it's all good.
Word.

I think Hottie4Fire is relatively glad that this site is somewhat anonymous!! I don't even live down there and think she is a horse's a$$.
